Original 106 Aberdeen Achieves Highest Ever Reach Figures

Original 106 Aberdeen continues its dominance across Scotland's airwaves, with impressive new RAJAR (Radio Audience Joint Research) figures showcasing over 100,000 listeners tuning in every week.

Original 106 Breakfast with Claire and Pete is the market leader with 18.7% market share, outperforming other stations. The pair bring their own voices, humour, and laugh-out-loud stories to listeners who make the much-loved presenters’ chat part of their morning routine.

In addition to the main show’s success, sister station Original 106 Gold has also seen an upsurge in listeners, with over 43,000 hours listened in the last quarter. The station, available exclusively on DAB digital radio across the north-east and online, plays classic throwback hits that defined generations.

Original 106 Aberdeen has managed to capture the hearts of Aberdeen listeners, delivering 'always your favourite music' every day, hilarious on-air antics and can't-miss competitions.

Fans have delighted in tuning into the strong line-up of familiar local presenters. One half of Original 106 Breakfast with Claire and Pete, presenter Claire Kinnaird comments “We believe in serving local, and have proved that there is still space in the market for local radio."

With its vibrant mix of music, local news and community spirit, Original 106 Aberdeen have earned a loyal following and are the trusted voice for the region.

Craig Lumsden, Programme Controller, adds, "To be number one at breakfast and commercial market leader overall is a testament to the hard work and passion that goes into every single show. Thank you and well done to the team at Original 106”.

The DC Thomson owned radio station also launched Original 106 Tayside, and Original 106 Fife last year. Both brands successfully undertook a large-scale marketing campaign last summer, as fans were thrilled to spot former Kingdom FM Breakfast Show presenters Dave and Vanessa on billboards, screens, and buses around the regions.
