DC Thomson has two occupational pension arrangements, the Thomson-Leng Provident Fund and the Thomson-Leng Superannuation Fund. The defined benefit section of the Thomson-Leng Provident Fund closed to new entrants in 2006 and closed to future accrual in 2015. The defined contribution section of the Thomson-Leng Provident Fund is open to new employees and is used by the Company as the auto-enrolment pension arrangement.

The defined benefit section of the Thomson-Leng Provident Fund is administered by the DC Thomson Pension Department, if current or previous employees have any questions on this section of the Fund, they can contact the Pension Department using the contact details at the bottom of this page.

The defined contribution section of the Thomson-Leng Provident Fund is administered by Aptia (previously Mercer). Current and previous employees can contact Aptia using the contact details at the bottom of this page.

When you join the defined contribution section of the Thomson-Leng Provident Fund members are provided with secure log in details to Aptia OneView, which is a self-service website providing members with access to real-time information about their pension savings. The Thomson-Leng Superannuation Fund is an historical defined benefit pension scheme open to eligible employees. It is administered by the DC Thomson Pension Department, and if current or previous employees have any questions on the Fund and their benefits within the Fund, they can contact the Pension Department using the contact details at the bottom of this page.

Data Protection

The Trustee Directors of the DC Thomson pension arrangements are required to inform their members that they hold information about them (personal data) and to notify them of the purposes for which the information is held. They will use member’s personal data for the purpose of administering their pension benefits. In order to do so, they may need to disclose member information to such professional advisers and other third parties who they have chosen to assist them. They may also disclose member’s information to the member’s current or a future employer and to other companies in the same corporate group.

They may also disclose information to government or regulatory bodies when required to do so by law. It may be necessary for them to hold certain information, such as medical or health details, which is deemed to be "sensitive personal data". Complaints

If a member is concerned about how the Trustee Directors of the DC Thomson pension arrangements uses or handles their personal data, they may raise a data protection complaint with the Trustee Directors. This can include concerns about accuracy, security, disclosure of information or delays in responding to data requests. Members can complain by email, post or by using our data protection complaints form to the Pensions Team using the contact details below.

Once the team receive a member’s complaint, they will acknowledge it within 30 days, investigate the complaint, keep the member informed of progress and provide a detailed explanation of the complaint’s outcome. If the member is not satisfied with the Trustee Director’s response, they have the right to raise their complaint with the Information Commissioner’s Office.
