New Strategic Finance Director

DC Thomson is pleased to announce the appointment of Matthew Smith as Strategic Finance Director as the company continues to transition and invest in its future.

In his new role, Matthew will help drive DC Thomson’s long-term financial strategy - strengthening our investment approach, unlocking new growth opportunities and ensuring we continue to build a sustainable, future-focused business.

Matthew brings more than three decades of investment banking and M&A experience, working in senior roles in Citi, Barclays and Perella Weinberg. After 30 years in the City, he is looking forward to a new challenge, returning to Scotland and contributing to DC Thomson’s purpose-led, future-focused approach.

Matthew said: “The diversity of the role and DC Thomson’s broad trading and investment portfolio really appealed to me. I was drawn to the company’s commitment to community and long-term investment. I am looking forward to this exciting new challenge after 30 years in banking.”
