The Opportunity:

As part of the Platform Engineering Group, your responsibilities will be to collaborate within a growing crossfunctional organisation tasked with the inception and continuance of a series of services underpinning the largest digital transformation in the company’s history. You will be tasked with verifying the quality and fitness of software applications, cooperating with professionals from different disciplines and of varying experience levels, enabling you the opportunities to both mentor and learn from colleagues. Your participation in this culture will empower you to meaningfully contribute to the delivery of software solutions to our stakeholders, not only through your participation in the development and verification process, but also in the refinement of our mentoring and documentation processes. The experience you bring will be a valuable resource in the continuous improvement of our engineering practises and how we approach problems as an organisation.

We encourage our Test Engineers to participate in the entire development process, reinforcing the consideration of verification procedures throughout the lifespan of a task and ensuring the production of quality applications. Our department is committed to ensuring that reasonable time is spent on exploratory testing deliverables and existing solutions, enabling our teams to create and maintain high calibre software. The organisation is looking for individuals to collaborate with our developers to build and preserve robust automated test suites that appropriately cover repeatable circumstances in a pragmatic fashion, as part of the migration towards Continuous Integration Continuous Delivery (CICD) practises.

What will you be doing as a Test Engineer?

  • Collaborate within a team of cross functional professionals to deliver value in an Agile environment
  • Explore, investigate and document issues, highlighting repeatable steps where possible
  • Design and implement test cases in a high velocity, iterative software development lifecycle
  • Take charge of personal development and pursue additional certification (such as ISTQB) with guidance from experienced mentors
  • Cooperate with Developers in the creation and preservation of Automated Test Suites
  • Embrace and maintain our inclusive, dependable and compassionate Engineering Culture
  • Responsible for communicating QA activity with the team and Principle QA Engineer

What we are looking for

  • Demonstrate participation in testing software and investigating unexpected behaviours of applications
  • Ability to appropriately document and describe test scenarios and issues to a variety of audiences
  • Capable of designing test cases with an awareness of risk analysis
  • Excellent Problem Solving and Communication Skills
  • Tenacious and curious mindset, looking to learn and expand knowledge
  • Firm understanding of QA Practices and Processes within an Agile environment

This is a full-time, permanent position, working 35 hours per week. The role presents the opportunity for hybrid working that must include regular office attendance.
