We have an exciting new opportunity for a Trade Marketing Executive to join our team with a focus on supporting our advertising and commercial teams across our Scottish hubs (Dundee, Glasgow and Aberdeen) as well as our Stylist advertising team in London.

As a Trade Marketing Executive you will be expected take the lead in telling our brand stories across channels, so our commercial teams can engage with potential new customers and build on existing relationships. You will also work closely with our Marketing Manager to lead on trade marketing campaigns and event work, as well as planning and executing a digital presence for our advertising teams.

This role is an opportunity to build on your experience ideally in trade marketing and an opportunity to lead the ongoing set up of tools to support our advertising and commercial teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, execute and track all trade marketing campaigns to support and generate new business for our advertising and commercial sales teams (News & Radio Scotland – Stylist London). Aligning activity to commercial team KPI’s.
  • Own and deliver the trade marketing calendar, delivering PR moments, events and regular contact eg newsletters to ensure our commercial sales teams stay front of mind for potential and existing clients.
  • Building a contacts database; plan, execute and manage newsletter sign ups to keep advertisers engaged.
  • Plan, execute and maintain a digital presence for our commercial sales team, including ownership of media packs.
  • Supporting product launches and brand moments, ensuring advertisers are aware and engaged.
  • Produce and manage brand toolkits for commercial teams to use across channels (social toolkits etc).
  • Assist in the creation of creds and sales decks for commercial sales teams.
  • Develop and own trade brand toolkits – to help tell our brand stories across multiple brands.
  • Responsible for the organisation and smooth running of the annual event – The Power of Local and assist in development of promotional materials and presentations for key trade events.
  • Responsible for raising purchase orders and ensuring payment of invoices, tracking and reporting trade marketing costs.

Knowledge, Qualifications, Skills and Experience

  • Media contacts across advertising and media trade publications and industry bodies is desirable
  • Demonstrable experience of trade marketing is desirable
  • Experience in marketing, event marketing and or project management
  • Experience of building and maintaining marketing plans
  • Understanding of brand storytelling and governance
  • Ability to integrate into multiple teams, working collegiately and collaboratively with broad and diverse groups of people
  • Desire to take the lead and implement process
  • A creative thinker who can bring new ideas to the table
  • A strong, clear, calm and consistent communicator – verbally, visually and in writing

This is a full-time, permanent position, working 35 hours per week. This is a hybrid role offering a blend of home and office working from ideally our Dundee Office.
