We are looking to add a talented Management Accountant to our expanding Commercial Team. Working with a brilliant Finance team you will bring a wealth of experience to the role and support this role which will be a key role for DC Thomson as we continue our growth.

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Preparation of Monthly Management accounts for Newspapers and Magazine businesses
  • Maintaining and updating control accounts and preparation and review of balance sheet reconciliations and analyses
  • Accounting for stock transactions and managing and reconciling stock control accounts
  • Maintenance and review of monthly accruals, provisions and payments
  • Preparing and posting of necessary month end journals to ensure the accuracy and integrity of the accounts
  • Analysis of revenue and cost variance for management reporting purposes, including preparation of commentaries
  • Preparation of the necessary budget/forecast/cashflow information for inclusion in divisional submissions
  • Assisting with Business Partners where applicable
  • Ensure continuous improvement of processes and systems
  • Ad Hoc project work and other duties
  • Supporting with Audit process, including preparation of year end file and liaising with auditors

Person Profile:

  • Qualified Accountant
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Commercial awareness and ability to add value
  • Comfortable working to tight month end reporting deadlines
  • Excellent excel skills
  • Ability to present information clearly and concisely for a range of non-financial stakeholders
  • Can work with minimum supervision but contributes to the overall team goals and objectives
  • Ability to handle and interpret large volumes of data and be able to present in a meaningful way
