Help us to help them

Well done Wilma

WHAT DO you give a 90-year-old as a birthday present?
That was the dilemma Wilma MacPherson’s family was facing.
Wilma, of Bonnyrigg, in Midlothian, helped them out and decided she didn’t want any presents as she had everything she wanted.
Instead, donations were to be made to our CHAS appeal.
The generous pensioner managed to raise a magnificent Ł350.
But that’s not surprising when you tally up her family — she has seven children, 22 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Wilma wanted the money to go to charity and her granddaughter, Susan Rudge, knew of our appeal and suggested our cause.
Susan said, “She wanted to help a charity. She’s a lovely lady, still very independent and lives on her own.”
Wilma said, “I’ve been lucky to have children and grandchildren who are healthy. I wanted to help others who are not.”
Well done Wilma!
