Help us to help them

That’s right Bobby,
Santa’s coming NOW.
I can see him, I can definitely see him. Over
here
Santa,
SANTAAAAA!
I’m here,
look, HERE! Is that one for me? Is it?
Is it?
At last! This
“getting Santa’s attention” lark is
hard work.

Delight on kids’ faces brought a tear to
Santa’s eye

By Kathryn Mainds

SANTA HAD a tear in his eye as he made his first delivery of Christmas 2004. Every year Rachel House is his first port of call before he delivers presents anywhere else.
Santa beamed, “Ho ho ho. It’s always a real honour to come here. It’s magical at this time of year. It becomes the most Christmassy place in the country.”
And it was the delight on the children’s faces that brought a tear to Santa’s eye, as they gathered at the front door to welcome him.
Of all the celebrities who have passed through Rachel House’s doors, from Ewan McGregor to Sharleen Spiteri, Santa is by far the children’s favourite. And it was the best Christmas present Santa could have wished for to see the kids’ faces light up as he arrived to a chorus of Jingle Bells.
However, the children were left a little bemused by Santa’s arrival in a police car with the siren flashing. Where was his sleigh? All became clear when Santa explained Rudolph had been caught speeding on Kinross High Street and was being reprimanded at the police station!
Laden with gifts for  the kids and their  families, Santa then made the children’s day as he handed them out.
He was astonished when little Bobby Webster generously gave his chocolates to big sister Caitlyn, who uses Rachel House.
And Bobby got quite excited about Santa’s visit too, as you can see above!
All the kids were pleased as punch with their presents, including Gerard Garvey from Glasgow. Mum Mary smiled, “Gerard’s been here since Wednesday. We’ve just come to pick him up, but we wanted to wait until Santa had been.
“Gerard’s been coming to Rachel House for nearly seven years. It’s an amazing place.
“And seeing Santa is definitely a highlight of his Christmas.
“It’s so nice to see all the children’s faces.”
After waving goodbye to the youngsters, Santa generously spared The Sunday Post a couple of minutes, despite his tight schedule.
He smiled, “I know Christmas will have passed by the time your readers see this, but next year they should remember that the starter gun for Christmas only goes off once I’ve been to Rachel House.
“I go home with a tear in my eye, but I’ll always come here myself and not send one of my deputies.
“I’ve lots of helpers all over the world — but I always do this one myself.”
