Sunday Post girls
get in on the act

OUR VERY own secretarial staff got in on the fund-raising act — taking part in this year’s Sunday Post Marafun.
The footloose four, Margaret Shepherd, Marina Carroll, Kaye Gallacher and Daphne Smith — along with Kaye’s sons Sean (9 today) and Ryan (6) — trekked the 12 miles round the Queen’s private estate at Balmoral and raised an impressive £600.

This was the last Marafun and the girls decided that it was now or never if they were ever going to take part (after threatening to for several years).
So, after many worries about whether they’d make it all the way round, what to do if it rained and just how many sandwiches you need to complete a 12-mile hike, they finally got their walking boots on.
But which charity were they to support? It was no contest.
Kaye said, “Every week we read about the children at Rachel House and know, from all the stories, about the wonderful work the staff there do.
“We feel really proud to have contributed something to the campaign to build another hospice, which has touched everyone in the office.
“People were hugely generous when they knew they’d be helping ‘our’ campaign.”
