Help us to help them

RAF are asking you
to be generous

By Kathryn Mainds

AS WELL as putting out fires this week, RAF Leuchars servicemen have been frantically preparing for their annual Christmas party for special children on December 4.
Flight Lieutenant Jim Lennie says, “The firefighters are actually planning to strike again on that date, although we’re hoping the situation will be resolved by then.

Santa gets some of the RAF Leuchars
Charities Action Group Committee ready for
the big day.

“But if not, we’re still planning to go ahead, as we have a number of other officers on hand to help. We hope to build on the success of previous years and welcome youngsters from local homes, hospices and special needs schools to a fun-packed day at the airbase.”
So far, RAF Leuchars have raised £15,000 for CHAS.
A number of the kids at Rachel House will be heading along — but they’d better watch out because Beadle’s about! Fortunately, champion boxers, Paul Weir, Ian McLeod and Jim Watt MBE will be there to keep the mischievous Jeremy in order.
Despite his extra busy schedule, Santa has promised to make a guest appearance, complete with his reindeer. Surprisingly, he’s opted for more unusual transport and will arrive by helicopter.
If you live in the Fife or Tayside areas and would like to donate a Christmas present, up to the value of £3, of items such as soft toys, sweets, footballs, etc, then please hand them into a branch of the Dunfermline Building Society, who are kindly supporting the event.
Cash donations, large or small, would be greatly appreciated and can also be handed into Dunfermline Building Societies.
Let’s make this a Christmas party for these very special children to remember.
