Renaissance packed
the pews in Dundee
NEWLY-FORMED Dundee music group Renaissance hit the high notes for CHAS when they put on their first ever concert, at SS Peter and Paul Church, Dundee, writes Farrah Baskerville.
Around 100 music-lovers filled the pews to hear Renaissance’s repertoire of sacred music, opera excerpts and operetta, songs from the shows and piano solos.
As accompanist Moyra Foley explains, “We’re delighted to be able to share the joy of our music with others, and raise funds for a wonderful cause.
“There are 12 of us in Renaissance and the CHAS appeal is something which is always close to our hearts.
“Many of us have healthy children and grandchildren and are very grateful for their well-being. We really wanted to support those who aren’t so lucky.
“We were delighted to have raised £325 and we’re planning another concert in the autumn.” |
