Dig deep for Edinburgh cyclists’ tour de force
Venetia explains, “We all feel it’s a good, worthwhile and
necessary Scottish charity. It’s a heck of a challenge and it would be silly to say we’re not feeling just a little trepidation, but we’re all raring to go.”
Free-wheelers
The three free-wheelers have the advantage of not having to get in shape for their exertions. Since they made a pact some years ago they’ve all been
cycling to work.
“We’ll hopefully manage at least 50 miles a day,” Venetia goes on. “The first day should take us to Bonar Bridge,
followed by Culloden, Boat of Garten, Blair Atholl and Crianlarich, arriving at Balloch on the 15th. We chose Balloch as it’s near the site of the new hospice.”
The women shouldn’t be
too difficult to spot as they’ll be using loudhailers and rattling cans en route to urge passers-by to dig deep.
“We’re really looking forward to it and hope that by the time we complete the ride, we will have doubled the £5000 we’ve already had pledged,” enthused Venetia. |
