£4252 — we’re
bowled over

By Farrah Baskerville
PITLOCHRY BOWLING CLUB hit the greens last Saturday and raised a whopping £4252 for our appeal.
Some 96 bowlers from all over Scotland played more than 100 games, watched by several hundred spectators. The ticket sales, entry fee and a raffle of more than 300 prizes donated by kind-hearted local businesses pushed the total jack high.
Organiser David Roy said, “Every year we hold a tournament to generate interest in the club and raise money for CHAS. This is the sixth tournament we’ve held for CHAS, and we’ve raised £13,980 in total.
“When I was in the police stationed in Kinross, I knew about the hospice and saw how they were struggling. I thought it would be great for the club to do something to help.
“Rachel House is a fantastic place.
“To my mind there is no better cause, because everyone has been a kid or has a child, and it’s only by the grace of God that your own children are healthy.
“When you think of the tremendous work that goes on at Rachel House with many people giving up their time for nothing, you realise how much these children are relying on our help.”
